Supporting Compliance
HVsim is a software-only high-voltage (HV) simulation environment designed for training centres delivering HV courses.
It allows instructors to demonstrate and assess high-voltage operations, fault conditions, and safety procedures without energised equipment — reducing cost, risk, and maintenance while ensuring compliance with applicable standards. We believe that Simulation is the safest, most effective and flexible method for allowing students to experience realistic operational scenarios - click here to find out more
Wide Applicability
HVSim supports both Operational and Management Level High Voltage training, aligning with the required knowledge, understanding, and proficiency (KUPs) for:
- High Voltage system design and safety
- High-Voltage Switching procedures
- Isolation, earthing, and permit-to-work
- Maintenance and fault response
- Electrical protection and testing

Why Choose HVSim?
Safe, Realistic Simulation
Interactive exercises replicate HV systems with interlocks, relays, instruments, and test modes — without energised hardware. No risk, no hardware failures, no downtime.
Audit-Ready
HVsim produces verifiable logs and scenario outputs that can be presented to auditors to demonstrate student competence and structured assessment
Instructor-Friendly
- Instructor mode for live demonstrations or guided exercises.
- Assessment mode for self-paced or exam conditions.
- Includes configurable scenarios for common High Voltage systems
Blended Learning Compatibility
HVsim supports on-site, remote, and blended delivery, ideal for flexible training schedules or satellite campuses.
BOOK A DEMO
We’ll walk you through our HV Simulator; letting you evaluate its features and user experience first-hand.
HVSim is a software-only high-voltage simulation environment designed for training centres delivering HV courses. It allows instructors to demonstrate and assess high-voltage operations, fault conditions, and safety procedures without energised equipment — reducing cost, risk, and maintenance while ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
HVSim complements physical HV equipment by offering safe, realistic simulation with no risk of electric shock or arc faults, lower setup and maintenance costs, flexibility to run on standard PCs, and support for remote or blended learning. It also generates audit-friendly logs to help demonstrate trainee competence to flag-state authorities or classification societies.
HVSim is aligned with the relevant sections of the STCW Code: A-III/1, A-III/2, and A-III/6. It supports both operational-level training for engineers in charge of watch or duty engineers under A-III/1, and management-level or Electro-Technical Officer training under A-III/2 and A-III/6
HVSim is appropriate for STCW HV Operational Level courses, STCW HV Management Level courses, ETO (Electro-Technical Officer) training and assessment, refresher or company-specific HV safety courses, and pre-sea or cadet training for early introduction to HV concepts in a safe environment.
HVSim can be used to teach and assess: safe operation of HV equipment including interlocks, isolation, earthing, and switching procedures; supervision and management of HV operations for management-level trainees; fault diagnosis and safe testing procedures relevant to ETOs; use of protection devices and system design; and compliance with safety and permit-to-work procedures.
HVSim provides verifiable logs and scenario outputs that document student actions, results, and assessment. These can be presented to auditors such as flag-state authorities or classification societies to demonstrate that students have met the Knowledge, Understanding, and Proficiency (KUP) requirements defined in STCW - enabling structured assessment without physical HV hardware.
Cyber Essentials Plus Certified
Cyber Essentials Plus helps us guard our organisation against cyber attacks. This is important because vulnerability to basic attacks can mark us out as a target for more in-depth unwanted attention from cyber criminals and others. Certification gives us and our customers peace of mind that our defences will protect against the vast majority of common cyber attacks simply because these attacks are exploiting targets which do not have the Cyber Essentials Plus technical controls in place.
ISO 27001 Certified
We strive to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of all systems and data used by Pisys in their delivery of hosted applications to their worldwide client base, protecting these systems and data from all threats, internal and external, deliberate and accidental. To do this, we have deployed an information security management system (‘ISMS’) compliant with the ISO/IEC 27001 information security standard to meet our information security policy. The ISMS will allow compliance with customer contracts, and relevant laws of the UK and any company within which Pisys Ltd operates.
