Real Scenarios, Better Results
Used globally to assist in training & assessment programs, providing unlimited marine operations scenarios for Rig Operators, Barge Engineers and Jacking Control Operators.
Replicates actual Jacking Panel hardware
Replicated ‘real’ instrumentation and control panels make it possible to alter the conditions and introduce events, monitor and record the operation for debriefing sessions.
High Realism
Model algorithms continually supply resultant drag and inertia forces for the elevation mechanism and those due to vessel movements, current, waves and wind. The bearing capacity curves for the site are used to calculate the vertical forces which result in the vessel being lifted out of the water and critical events such as an unexpected punch-through can be simulated.
Used for Rig & Barge Jacking Operations training: these models challenge students with unlimited varying soil conditions, ‘Punch-Thru’, Preload tank, stability conditions, weather, Rack-Phase Differentials and rig move scenarios.
Addressing the major gaps in Jack-Up training
High-risk operations with limited real-world training opportunities
The simulator provides a safe environment to practice critical tasks without endangering personnel or assets.
Difficulty in replicating complex environmental & seabed conditions
The simulator’s algorithmic modelling of drag/inertia forces and bearing-capacity curves allows realistic simulation of these variables
Reducing downtime, risk, and cost of real-asset training
The simulator allows organisations to train operators off-asset, reduce operational risk, and ensure readiness before entering actual operations.
Limited debriefing and recording of operator performance
The simulator provides the ability to monitor and record the operation for debriefing - it's also possible to pause training to plan next steps.
Difficult to operate in both Imperial and Metric units
Single-switch transition between Metric and Imperial Units

Huge Business Benefits
Overall the Pisys OTS simulator is a massive benefit to our business and we're really excited about the new opportunities we're getting as customers find out what we can offer.
BOOK A DEMO
We’ll walk you through our JACK-UP Training Simulator; letting you evaluate its features and user experience first-hand.
The simulator models a typical 3-leg self-elevating offshore drilling vessel (jack-up) with high fidelity, including marine operations, jacking/elevation, vessel motion from waves/wind/current, and soil/footing interactions such as “punch-through”
It gives operators realistic instrumentation, control panels and scenario-based training environments.
It is aimed at personnel involved in jack-up operations: rig operators, barge engineers, jacking-control operators, and marine operations staff.
It can also be used for assessment/competency checking of elevated operations in offshore industries.
The simulator enables a wide range of scenarios such as:
Vessel transit, positioning and leg deployment
Elevation (lifting out of the water) under waves, wind and current
Leg penetration into the seabed and bearing‐capacity interactions
Unexpected events: punch-through, stuck leg extraction, rapid penetration, rack phase difference (RPD) issues.
Use of instrumentation and control panels under varying site/soil/environmental conditions.
Several aspects contribute:
Authentic instrumentation and control panel replication so operators familiar with real vessels recognise the interface.
Algorithms that compute drag and inertia forces in real time due to vessel motion, waves, wind and current, plus bearing-capacity curves for soil/footing analysis.
Ability to introduce critical events (e.g., punch-through) for training under realistic risk scenarios.
Yes, all our simulators are accessible online and many of our customers value the ability to train without travelling.
Some benefits include:
Safe environment to practice high-risk operations (e.g., punch-through, leg extraction) without real-world consequences.
Ability to train for rare/unplanned events and varied environmental/seabed conditions.
Enhanced familiarity with instrumentation/control panels in a realistic environment.
Potential cost savings by reducing real asset downtime and risk, and improving operator competence before real-world deployment.
Yes — the simulator incorporates algorithms based on bearing capacity curves for the site and environmental loads (waves, wind, current).
Yes — the system allows varying site/soil bearing curves, environmental/load conditions, and user-defined events. This allows training for site‐specific conditions and even rare/unplanned events. (Based on typical simulator capabilities).
Pisys are also able to create a model based on your specific requirements - contact them for more details
The system can be deployed on-site, with a moving platform option if required for added realism. It is also available on-line as part of our 'train without travelling' range,
Cyber Essentials Certified
Cyber Essentials helps us guard our organisation against cyber attacks. This is important because vulnerability to basic attacks can mark us out as a target for more in-depth unwanted attention from cyber criminals and others. Certification gives us and our customers peace of mind that our defences will protect against the vast majority of common cyber attacks simply because these attacks are exploiting targets which do not have the Cyber Essentials technical controls in place. Cyber Essentials is part our ISO27001 certification which is the global standard for Information Security Management Systems.
ISO 27001 Certified
We strive to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of all systems and data used by Pisys in their delivery of hosted applications to their worldwide client base, protecting these systems and data from all threats, internal and external, deliberate and accidental. To do this, we have deployed an information security management system (‘ISMS’) compliant with the ISO/IEC 27001 information security standard to meet our information security policy. The ISMS will allow compliance with customer contracts, and relevant laws of the UK and any company within which Pisys Ltd operates.
