Scottish Digital Marketing Agency Adopt The Pisys ESG System
Summary
Scottish digital marketing agency, Red Evolution, adopted the Pisys ESG system as part of their B Corp accreditation. As a result the company has better visibility of its ESG impact and is better able to communicate its progress against ESG targets.
Background
Red Evolution is a digital marketing agency with its main office at the edge of the Scottish Highlands in Aberdeenshire. Working in the digital space for over 20 years, the company focuses on supporting industrial and technical businesses with all aspects of their marketing, from strategy to execution.
“We’re very much driven by our values”, said Dave Robinson, Founder and MD. “A core part of this is being open and transparent, and so we felt that B Corp accreditation would help to keep us accountable since it requires us to list publicly the impact that our activities have on the planet.”
The business is also very committed to the environment. Being close to the Cairngorms in one of the most beautiful areas on the planet, the team is typically very outdoor focused – so cycling, walking and running are all big parts of their lives.
Challenge
Broadly the B Corp standard looks at a company’s impact across Environment, Society and Governance (ESG).
Having started the process of accreditation, the company realised that the spreadsheets they were using to track the various elements were not up to the task. As a digital business, with team members working in several different locations, they wanted an intuitive, online system that would make it easy for all users to input or access the required information, wherever they were, whenever they needed it.
Their specific requirements were to track the miles cycled by staff in their commute, and to measure their waste output based on the 30 litre bin bags they use. They also wanted to record data on the diversity of their workforce and their spending as a business in the local neighbourhood as well as volunteering time locally. Other data items to record included energy and water use etc. Although Excel was able to do part of this, managing the conversions and producing the required reports was not easy and tied up a lot of admin time.
Solution
The Pisys ESG system was able to address the company’s detailed requirements for tracking distances cycled and waste produced very simply. Both these items can be converted to a carbon footprint at the click of a button by applying conversion factors which are provided by the UK government and are automatically imported.
They found the Pisys ESG system very easy to set up with their specific data requirements and they were up and running quickly. In addition they were able to customise the dashboard easily to reflect the data that mattered to them
The system clearly shows the status of their data entry and the configurable dashboard and reports have helped them stay on top of our B Corp processes, and track their current position.
